Skill set required for a Mechatronics Engineer

Skill set entirely depends upon each individual and their choice of field. Find the best yourself, and start  developing your knowledge from your faculty mentors, online courses, books, internet, value added courses etc.

There are five broad skills a mechatronics engineer must have;
  1. Mechanical engineering
  2. Electrical/Electronics engineering
  3. Software engineering/programming (firmware)
  4. Controls engineering
  5. Communication engineering.

Dual Motor Electric Go-Kart For Rough Terrain

Here we propose a dual motor high power go kart for rough terrain. Rough terrains means an uneven surface and small obstacles. So we here use shock absorbers between our below chassis and above seating chassis. Also we need to have a strong frame, so we use a metal frame to design it. Also we develop it for wireless running so person in kart can operate it using a joystick as well as a person can remotely operate it. We use scooter wheels with connecting shafts and two motors. We make a turning mechanism for front wheel with another motor needed for turning. This system uses a battery to power it up. We now use a control circuit to control all motors using the input received from the receiver circuit. Thus we provide a fully operational electric gokart for rough terrains.

First Project Experience by Dhinakar and Harivvaradhan

OUR SUCCESS STORY

First Project Experience

Hi friends, I am P. Dhinakar, studying B.E.Mechatronics Engineering in SNS College of Technology, Coimbatore. I along with my friend G.S.  Harivvaradhan have done our first project in Digital Electronics – Construction of Logic Gates using IC-7400, as a part of project-based learning. Digital Electronics is the subject handled by our professor Mr. R Yasodharan who gave us the initial thrust to do this project. In our class, we learn things based on the projects given to us by our professor which we call it as project-based learning. We thank him for motivating us to do this project. It is because of him we started doing projects. We have done our project successfully but after crossing many hurdles.

10 Best Tips to First Year Engineering Students to come-up

First of all let me convey my wishes to all of you as you guys have cleared your school life successfully. Now you came out of your first phase of life(schooling), and that exit door is an entry door of your most important and precious phase of life(college life).
You are being thrown into what the world speaks of, reality of life. I don’t know whether you will excel in your field after 4 years or not, but definitely you will excel in tackling the situations no matter how bad it is. This is what engineering teaches us as a complimentary course.

Flying Drone in India is legal from 1st December 2018 - No Permission, No Take off

The wait is over!

On Monday, 28th August 2018, Indian Government announced a policy and guidelines for all remotely piloted aircraft (commonly called as Drones or Quads) which will comes to live from coming 1st December 2018. These regulations will enable the safe, commercial usage of drones starting December 1, 2018. It is intended to enable visual line-of-sight, daytime-only operations to a maximum altitude of 400 feet.

Mechatronics Engineering - History, Roles, Career Options

Introduction to Mechatronics:
Mechatronics is a multidisciplinary field of science that incorporates a blend of mechanical, electronics, electrical and computer engineering. Initially, Mechatronics was confined to mechanics and electronics; subsequently the field does not only restrict to the latter but also has broadened its horizons to include broader technical fields that involves designing, testing and operation of machinery and equipment. Mechatronics comprises high level functional integration of mechanical systems with electronics and computer control. Mechatronics intends to enhance the functionality of specialized frameworks and the formation of new equipment’s and machinery with intelligence.
Mechatronics can be seen everywhere today. Engineers have mechatronics journals and can read mechatronics papers in journals that cover other fields, while a multitude of diverse companies are embracing its principles.

The term was coined over 40 years ago, when engineer Tetsuro Mori combined the words "mechanical" and "electronic" to describe the electronic control systems that Yaskawa Electric Corp. was building for mechanical factory equipment.
